Mrs. Erin Avery
The coursework I have participated in spans over two decades.  I earned my first 8 college credits from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1992.  My coursework through the University of Michigan was in geology.  I then continued my education at Eastern Michigan University, Michigan Technological University and the University of Phoenix in addition to numerous workshops and other professional development opportunities.
  • Master of Arts in Education Administration and Supervision, University of Phoenix.
  • Administrative Certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education for K-12 Administration.
  • Master of Science in Applied Science Education, Michigan Tech. University.  In progress with 28 credits earned.  Anticipated in winter of 2016.
  • Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, current "Professional Education Cert."
 About Me
My educational experiences are vast and varied! While I have been in education for 14 years, it is the past 10 years as a principal in both a K-8 and 9-12 setting that I have appreciated most!  I enjoy the opportunities that I have to work with students, share what ignites my spirit and look for ways to ignite and inspire their spirit. Focus, Integrity, Respect and Excellence drives all that I do as a FIRE breathing Dragon at Summit Academy North High School.  GO DRAGONS!
My family is an important part of my life.  In my spare time, I enjoy camping, being outdoors and enjoying time with my son, daughter and husband.  I also love animals including my pet turtles, fish, dogs, cats and our aging horses that I enjoyed showing in 4-H many years ago.  Gardening is also a favorite spring and summer time activity for me!
While I have grown to dislike the snow during our long winter months, I can't imagine living in any other state, Michigan is simply a wonderful and beautiful place to be!  Taking the time to explore all of the beauty that Michigan has to offer is something that truly inspires me and I enjoy sharing these experiences with our students.
